Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) reports that it has achieved an exceptional technical milestone at the NC2 concession well B1-NC2.
Technical teams successfully increased the well's production by 13 times, from 300 barrels to approximately 4,000 barrels of oil per day, using only natural flow and without the need for artificial lift.
The company said this success, achieved 40 years after the well was drilled in 1986, comes as part of the National Oil Corporation's ongoing efforts to increase production rates and develop existing assets.
AGOCO's technical teams, in collaboration with SLB (Schlumberger) were able to unlock the reservoir's production potential and overcome complex geological challenges and the phenomenon of low-resistance reservoirs.
AGOCO reported that the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation, Masoud Suleiman, praised this technical achievement and well-thought-out integrated work, appreciating the efficiency of the national cadres and their ability to turn geological challenges into tangible production opportunities.
He stressed the NOC’s full and absolute support for AGOCO and all companies in the sector to enable them to achieve their strategic objectives and support the national economy.
