The Security Directorate Support Unit in the Regions, part of the Tripoli based Ministry of Interior, held a meeting today at its headquarters, which included several companies, shops, clinics and institutions working in the field of advertising, to discuss mechanisms for regulating advertising activity in Libya and enhancing compliance with the legal controls regulating it.‎

‎During the meeting, the participating commercial entities were informed that they should not contract or implement any advertising campaigns with influencers or advertisers until the service provider has obtained an official license to practice advertising activity issued by the Ministry of Labour and Rehabilitation. The Directorate stressed the importance of reporting anyone who practices the activity without a license.‎

‎The officials of the Directorate stressed that these measures come within the framework of regulating the advertising market and protecting companies and brands from illegal practices, which contributes to raising the level of professionalism and credibility within the sector.‎

‎Many of the participating commercial entities welcomed this step in posts on their social media, considering that it contributes to preserving rights, regulating the advertising work environment, and promoting the principle of equal opportunities among workers in the field, which reflects positively on the national economy.‎

‎On their social media posts, the attendees also praised the efforts of the Directorate in following up and organizing advertising activity, in a way that preserves the rights of companies and institutions and enhances compliance with laws and regulations.‎
