PROJECT OFFICER

The British Embassy in Libya is seeking to recruit a Project Officer.

Responsibilities

The Project Officer will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring projects that promote participation and freedom of expression, working with international project partners and civil society organisations;
  • Supporting delivery of initiatives, for example, by arranging meetings;
  • Tracking actual financial spend on projects;
  • Contributing to the promotion of UK/Libyan achievements to key audiences, providing presentations, articles and photographs.

The Project Officer will report to the Delivery Manager, as part of the Arab Partnership/Conflict Pool Programme Team. The Programme Team works closely with the Political Team and other teams in the British Embassy, and all team members are expected to be capable of building strong internal and external relationships.

Skills/Experience

  • Programme and project management experience
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including Arabic and English
  • Experience of acting responsively to a fast-moving context
  • Understanding of Libyan civil society
