Operation Dignity air forces have carried out strikes on Derna port and other . . .[restrict]targets in the town with unconfirmed reports of civilian casualties following the attacks.
Air Force Brigadier-General Saqr Adam Geroushi told the Libya Herald that Operation Dignity had carried out bombing on the ports’ facilities and elsewhere in the town but did not specify the exact targets. Pictures have been posted on social media of fire damage as result of the airstrikes.
Geroushi said Dignity forces had also dropped a bomb close to a ship attempting to enter the port as a warning to stop it from doing so.
Two vessels were destroyed by Operation Dignity while entering Derna Port in June. In recent days the military operation led by retired General Khalifa Hafter has stepped up its bombing campaign against ship supplying by sea the Islamist forces ranged against it.
Operation Dignity has said that it would bomb any ship attempting to enter the port of Benghazi, ordering it closed. The Ministry of Interior and Benghazi Municipal Council have subsequently said the port would be open for business.
