Benghazi, 27 May:
The household goods market in Bu Atni in Benghazi was largely destroyed when a fire broke out very early . . .[restrict]on Saturday morning. No casualties were reported, however most of the goods went up in flames.
The cause of the conflagration is still unknown and it took firemen several hours to bring the blaze under control.
There have been several fires in markets in bothBenghazi and Tripoli in recent months. Many have been put down to electrical short circuits, but there have also been reports of arson. In March, a massive fire gutted Banghazi’s carpet market and resulted in the death of an Egyptian worker.
