London, 2 September 2021:

Ibrahim Takia, the head of one of Libya’s main state projects implementation agencies, the Organization for the Development of Administrative Centres (ODAC), said yesterday his organization has received the finances to reactivate 70 existing projects in eastern Libya worth LD 459 million.

This reactivation is part of the government’s ‘‘Reviving Life’’ development plan.

Takia said implementation will start on the first of October and that ODAC had started receiving work sites and stocktaking.

The 70 projects include:

  • 12 projects in the higher education sector
  • 33 projects in the general education sector
  • 8 projects in the sports sector
  • 8 projects in the health sector
  • 1 project in the social affairs sector

Takia gave no further information on these or other projects.

Aldabaiba’s ‘‘Reviving Life’’ development plan

It will be recalled that Libyan Prime Minister Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba had announced the launch of the ‘‘Reviving Life’’ development plan last Friday.

‘‘We have developed a solid plan to move the wheel of development and start reviving stalled projects in Libya.

We announce the launch of the development programme for the last quarter of 2021 under the name ‘‘Reviving Life’’ after securing sources of income despite the lack of approval of the 2021 budget.

Development projects will target roads, schools, hospitals, clinics, digging water wells, installing desalination plants, and others’’. Aldabaiba had said.
