London, 15 December 2020:

Libya’s Air Ambulance service yesterday received its new Cessna Citation 680 Latitude aircraft to add to its fleet of air ambulances. The plane was purchased from Textron, the parent company of the Cessna aircraft and helicopters. The handover ceremony was attended by members of the U.S. Embassy for Libya.

The Air Ambulance service also announced that it will also be purchasing three helicopters from the company at the beginning of 2021. It will also be establishing a maintenance centre for these aircraft at Tripoli’s Mitiga airport which the service said will be the first of its kind in Africa and will be ready by the end of April 2021.

The service said this aircraft is the third of its kind in its fleet and will contribute to providing air ambulance services to all Libyans.
