A committee formed by Libyan Railroads has approved six updated Benghazi metro routes totalling 130 km, Railroads Libya announced yesterday.

The committee lodged at Railroads Libya’s Tripoli headquarters maps and the final report of the committee showing the direction of the routes, their specifications, and the areas they pass through.

A source at the Railroads Libya explained to Libya Herald that all previously published metro routes were merely proposals suggested by consultancy companies. He said these latest proposals were needed because more than ten years have passed since the old routes were proposed. However, even these may not be the final routes, he added.

No further details on the project nor a map of the proposed routes were available for publication.
