Libya’s state National Oil Corporation (NOC) and its subsidiary, the Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO), announced today the launch of ‘‘a wide afforestation campaign’’ for all company sites‎.

‎The announcement followed a meeting Thursday of the Director of Sustainable Development of the NOC with the Chairman of the Management Committee of AGOCO in Benghazi. ‎

‎The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development and resulted in the agreement to launch a wide afforestation campaign that includes all the company's sites, to increase green spaces, improve air quality, and contribute to achieving sustainable development.‎

‎The parties also agreed to form a working group to identify suitable sites for planting trees, and to develop a specific time plan for the implementation of the campaign.‎
