  • Practiced medicine in public hospitals and private clinics
  • Played a managing role in the field of oil services, consultations and international trade companies
  • Held the position of Deputy Prime Minister in the transitional government
 

Second Deputy Prime Minister – Awad Al-Barasi, Age 46

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Tripoli University, 1979
  • Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from Canada, 1995
  • PhD in Electrical Engineering from Canada, 2000
  • Made numerous specialised studies in electrical networks
  • Contributed to the policy and strategy for the electricity sector in Dubai and was in charge of following-up and the implementation of the government’s major projects
  • Served as the Minister of Electricity in the transitional government
 

Third Deputy Prime Minister – Abdussalam Al-Qadi, Age 45

  • Masters Degree in olive oil extraction technology from Spain
  • Held several management and production positions in agriculture and industry and participated in many international conferences
 

Minister of Justice – Salah Bashir Margani, Age 61

  • Masters Degree in Law Philosophy from the UK, 1979
  • Worked in the prosecution Office and as a consultant at the Law Department of the Ministry of Justice
  • Practised Law and academic work as well as some research activities
  • He has memberships in many law committees
 

Minister of Foreign Affairs – Ali Al-Aujali, Age 65

  • 45 years of experience in diplomatic sector
  • Served as Libyan Ambassador to the United States
  • Worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he served as head of various political and technical departments within the Ministry
  • Joined the 17 February Revolution shortly after its outbreak
 

Minister of Interior – Ashour Suleiman Shuwail, Age 58

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Benghazi University
  • Masters Degree in Law from Benghazi University, 1995
  • PhD in Law from Egypt, 2000
  • Worked with the police authority for 35 years and held various security tasks varied between fieldwork, criminal investigations and gained significant experience through various policing departments
 

Minister of Defence – Mohammed Mahmoud Al-Barghathi, Age 71

  • Graduated from the Royal Military College, fourth group, 1962
  • Certification from the US Air Academy, 1965
  • Served as a Fighter Pilot, Military Attaché, Air Force Commander
  • Resigned from Military Service, 1994
  • The first to make presence at Benghazi Banina Airport during the first few days of 17 February Revolution
 

Minister for International Cooperation – Mohamed Imhamid Abdulaziz, Age 60

  • Served as a member of the Libyan Mission to the UN

  • Serves as the UN Continental Representative of the Middle East and North African Drugs and Crime Office
  • Deputy Minister in the Libyan Transitional Government

Minister of Agriculture – Ahmed Ayad Ali Al-Urfi, Age 45

Minister of Culture – Habib Mohammed Al-Amin, Age 46

Minister for the Injured – Ramadan Ali Mansour Zarmuh (special ministry), Age 63

  • Officer at the Tripoli Military College, and the Air Force College of Misrata
  • Resigned from the Army in 1990
