Libyan olive oil from Gharian wins two international prizes during May

A Libyan olive oil produced by Al-Moshkat company based in the Western / Nafusa Mountain city of Gharian has won two separate prizes for its product in May.

First, it won gold at the Japan Olive Oil Prize (JOOP) 2022 on 17 May.

Secondly, it was announced yesterday that it won the Gold Best of Class ‘‘Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the World’’ award at this month’s Scandinavian International Olive Oil Competition (SIOOC) 2022 held in Stockholm.

The Libyan Export Promotion Centre supports Libyan exporters
Commenting on the awards, the Libyan Export Promotion Centre (LEPC) said the international competitions are an opportunity for Libyan producers to market their brands. It said that this was especially the case for the JOOP competition as Japan is the country with the most demand in Asia for virgin olive oil.

The LEPC’s General Manager, Mohamed Ali Al-Deeb, congratulated Al-Moshkat Company for the prize, hoping that success will be for all the companies registered in the LEPC’s Exporters Register to promote their brands in the international market. He said all the capabilities of the LEPC are available to serve the exporters and the export process in Libya.
