(NCDC).

London, 2 March 2021:

Libya’s Tripoli based National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) – and partnering entities – yesterday launched an online anti-Coronavirus vaccination registration website in anticipation of the arrival of the country’s first vaccine batches.

Twelve million vaccines are expected to start arriving at the end of this month.

The vaccination will eventually be available to all those over 18, with the first phase reserved for health workers, the elderly and those with chronic diseases.

Those seeking to receive the vaccine must register online by:

  • Entering their National ID Number and Family Book registration number to start the registration process.
  • Choose the municipality and the health centre they intend to receive the vaccination at.
  • Enter the rest of their data, including the mobile phone number, which will be used later to communicate with them.
  • Make sure they enter the details of any chronic diseases that they are medically diagnosed with, if any, click on the word “Registration”.

The NCDC was keen to allay the fears of expats by stressing that all foreign residents would receive the vaccine.

They stressed that the website was still under development, a point that was proven this morning by reports that it had already crashed under the pressure of large number of users.
