The 444th Combat Brigade reported yesterday that its Desert Detachments delivered what it called ‘‘a heavy blow against drug dealers of hallucinogenic pills’’.

It reported that it thwarted the smuggling operation of a quarter of a million narcotic tablets that were intended to enter the capital Tripoli yesterday – right in the middle of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

The interception took place south of the town of Garyat located about 330 kms south of Tripoli.

The 444th Combat Brigade said operations of securing the desert roads will not stop, and the remnants of the smugglers will be chased until they are eliminated, no matter how much time and effort this may cost.
